• 1000 Thanks!

February 4, 2019 Candice Hark News

Maxient recently reached a huge landmark: 1,000 clients!

What started as a small idea in 2003, has quite literally changed the way higher education gets work done over the last 15 years.

We decided the best way to celebrate this incredible milestone is with the folks who helped us achieve it. As a thank you to our clients, we are holding a grant competition to infuse funding for ideas, big or small, that can make an impact on your campus. Each of Maxient’s staff members will have the opportunity to grant $1,000 to a proposal they feel is most deserving!

Could your on-call staff use a technology upgrade? Perhaps you’d like to bring in a speaker on relationship violence? Maybe the best way to get greater recognition for your civility initiative is stickers for students’ laptops? Hoping to do a drive-in conference for your in-state colleagues? Need to buy some paint for a community-building restoration project? These are just a few examples to get your ideas flowing. We know you probably have a lot more ideas in mind of where $1,000 could make all the difference for your students, your colleagues, and your campus community!

    The ground rules are simple:

    • Proposal descriptions should be no longer than 500 words. (See below on how you can expound further!)
    • Your idea should either be related to the institution’s usage of the software, or to furthering the principles our software and brand promotes: integrity, civility, and safety, to name a few.
    • Each proposal must have the support of a level 3, 4, or 5 Maxient user, but may come from anyone at the school (e.g. resident advisor, conduct officer, police, counselor, Dean of Students)
    • There is no limit on the number of proposals per institution.
    • Proposals must be submitted through this form, and received no later than March 1, 2019.
    • We will begin announcing winners and promoting their projects via social media the following week.
    • We strongly encourage you to tell us — and the world — via social media over the next few weeks about what you’re trying to do with this grant. Be active, be creative, and have fun! Beyond your written proposal here, that will be the best way to get our attention and stand out from the crowd! Tweet us @Maxient combined with the hashtag #1000thanks and/or post to Facebook. We’ll be watching and listening!

Regardless of who wins these awards, we are very grateful to ALL of our clients for their loyalty and support throughout our 15 years of business. In our hearts, you are all deserving of 1000 thanks!

  • Maxient helps Texas schools with open records request

February 14, 2017 Aaron Hark News

Within the last few days, many public colleges and universities in Texas received an open records request from the Houston Chronicle seeking a broad set of student conduct case data. After a few campuses contacted our staff with questions about gathering numbers, Maxient’s support team promptly assembled guidance to help all of our clients quickly and accurately respond to the requests using Maxient’s built-in analytics. No additional cost and no fuss. Just another example of how Team Maxient has our clients’ backs!

Are you a client who received the same request and need a little guidance on pulling the data? Open a help ticket inside your Maxient system or give us a call!

Not a Maxient client yet but interested in a product that has your back without a charge for every little need? Give us a call at (434) 295-1748, or click the “Contact” link above to get in touch!

  • Maxient responds to misleading claims in the marketplace

    December 1, 2010

Schools buy software products with the best of intentions. Occasionally, things don’t work out and they switch to another product. It’s a fact of life and of the software industry — except it just hasn’t happened to Maxient.

You read that right: Maxient has NEVER lost a client to a competitor.

For more than seven years, Maxient has been the go-to product for colleges and universities nationwide who need a powerful, reliable, and affordable way of tracking student conduct and behavior-related concerns. Our customer service is incredible and our reputation in the marketplace unmatched. Thanks to that we’ve seen our client base grow every month as schools purchase software for the first time or switch from another product. It seems surprising to love a software company, but that’s precisely the sentiment that so many of our customers express about Maxient. We’re thankful for their business and we work hard to earn it every day.

As a company we’re focused exclusively on the fields of student conduct and behavioral intervention/threat assessment. These comprise a profession with a strong foundation in the concepts of ethics, honesty, integrity, and fairness. Just as you uphold those ideals in your daily work and expect them from your students, you have every right to expect them from a software provider doing business in this field. If you take a call or an email from someone claiming that Maxient’s customers have switched to them, ask for the proof. Demand names, and when none are forthcoming, demand honesty.
